Chief Operating Officer, Fraud Solutions
Brian Lapidus is the chief operating officer (COO) for the Fraud Solutions practice of the Background Screening division of Kroll. With his unique frontline experience helping organizations safeguard against and respond to data breaches, Brian sets the direction for the practice’s continued success in identity theft discovery, investigation, and restoration.
An expert in security and risk mitigation, Brian oversees a highly skilled team that includes veteran licensed investigators who specialize in supporting breach victims and restoring individuals' identities to pre-theft status. He also works with consumer organizations to help ensure responsible practices among businesses that provide identity theft-related services. Brian is particularly knowledgeable about the many security gaps - physical, procedural, and electronic - common to many U.S. companies and organizations, as well as the criminal landscape where stolen identities are bought, sold, and used.
Leading up to his appointment as COO of Fraud Solutions, Brian’s innovation and insight into security and risk mitigation applications and strategies resulted in the development of many new initiatives within this division of Kroll including the creation of what is now Global Academic Verification (GAV), a leading Kroll solution to assist universities in authenticating student application data matriculating to domestic universities. He has also been at the helm of international market expansion, planning, and deployment for the Fraud Solutions practice by developing the business model and protocol for practice globalization, then successfully launching our Canadian Fraud Solutions practice operation.
Prior to joining Kroll, Brian worked to reorganize the Chief Information Office of the U.S. Department of the Treasury while serving in a former consultancy. He holds a bachelor's degree from Washington University with a concentration in psychology and business and an M.B.A. from Vanderbilt University with a concentration in strategy and general management.

As Managing Director, Jim Foley leads the activities of Kroll’s Background Screening division across EMEA, Asia, and Australia. Jim’s experience prior to joining Kroll includes an impressive mix of large corporate and smaller entrepreneurial environments. Most recently, he served as Global Director of Market Development and Innovation for BT Media and Broadcast, with more than £300m revenue and in excess of 600 staff members in offices around the world.
Jim has previously worked in a number of entrepreneurial start-ups in the areas of technology, software testing, internet referral marketing, and executive coaching. In these start-ups he served as either CEO or chairman. Jim’s earlier experience also includes senior positions in organizations such as Cap Gemini and Logica with deep exposure to a range of industries including finance, utilities, and technology. He has a wealth of experience in leading and growing international businesses and of leading cross-cultural teams.
Jim’s education includes an MBA gained at Strathclyde Graduate Business School which focused on Strategic Management and Marketing and a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Mathematics. He is also involved in a number of philanthropic ventures including Inspiring Scotland where he serves on the Advisory Board.
