eSignature
In order to begin processing most background screening services in the United States, Kroll must have a signed authorization and disclosure form from the applicant. To make submitting this form faster and easier, we embedded electronic signature capability within Applicant Submission, Kroll’s online questionnaire that’s directly completed by the applicant.
Unlike many other web portals that profess electronic signature capability, Kroll’s eSignature solution requires the applicant to literally create a forensic signature (also known as a "wet" signature) using a computer mouse. This technology, which differs significantly from the traditional "click to comply" solution, meets even the most stringent of legal and security standards. Moreover, Kroll’s eSignature capability fully complies with the E-SIGN Act of 2000, since all applicants have the choice of submitting their signature electronically or instead sending Kroll a hard copy of their signed form.
Kroll’s eSignature solution:
- Automates the entire applicant submission process
- Dramatically improves turnaround time since the authorization form is submitted simultaneously with applicant information
- Means you or Kroll don’t have to make repeated calls to the applicant to obtain the signed authorization form
- Allows you to use a customized authorization form (subject to legal review)
- Means Kroll always has an electronic copy of the form on hand if asked for it by a primary information source
- Can eliminate either Kroll or you having to maintain a hard copy of the authorization form on file
- Allows for better recordkeeping, since Kroll can electronically store all necessary documentation with the applicant’s report
- Keeps the applicant’s signature safe from hackers since it’s not stored as a separate file (instead we append it to the authorization form)
